Since 2013, the Center for Myofascial Therapy has been a Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy Group using the most up-to-date techniques and specializing in:
- Solving muscular and soft tissue pain syndromes
- Disorders and problems
- Improving athletic, golf, musical and vocal performance
The practice has a long-standing reputation in the myofascial community and Pittsburgh.
The Trigger Point Therapy consists of a "hands-on" compressing, massaging and stretching of the Trigger Points in the muscles. A Trigger Point is a self-sustaining irritated spot in the muscle and soft tissue which causes the muscle to gradually become tighter and to shorten.
The treatment entails the non-invasive slow sustained pressure to that point and a gentle stretching to restore normal pain-free movement. This is the most efficient treatment for the diagnosis of Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS).
We DO NOT use drugs or injections!
